Today, Microwave Techniques stands as the global leader in the design, engineer, and manufacture of high-power microwave components, industrial microwave systems, and RF solutions, supporting all of its legacy brands.

1973
Microwave Techniques, Inc. (MTI) is originally founded and established in Raymond, Maine.

1980
Acquisition of flexible waveguide product line from Co-Operative Industries of New Jersey.

1981
The original Ferrite Components, Inc. founders leave Raytheon SMDO Group.

1983
Ferrite Components, Inc. founded to produce high-power microwave & RF components.

1989
Mega Industries founded by past Microwave Techniques, Inc. employees in Portland, ME.

1991
Mega Industries acquires Microwave Techniques, Inc. and moves company back to Raymond, ME.

1993
Launch of industrial microwave systems division for tempering, drying, heating, and cooking food.

1996
The company moves into its current facility HQ location at 28 Sanford Drive in Gorham, Maine.

2003
Company recognized for success in international markets with Export Achievement Award from Secretary of Commerce, Donald Evans.

2003
Acquisition of Raytheon/Amana Industrial Microwave System product line and assets.

2004
Acquisition of RF Technologies, Corp. of Lewiston, Maine. Expansion of microwave system technology and RF component offerings.

2007
Emmy™ Award winner, recognized for innovative broadcast solutions and RF filter technology.

2008
Emmy™ Award winner, recognized for pioneering RF combiner technology.

2013
Expansion of Gorham facility, addition of clean room for ultra-high vacuum capabilities.

2014
Acquisition of FXR high-power waveguide dummy loads product line from MicroLab.

2015
Acquisition of Micro Communications, Inc. (MCi), of Merrimack, New Hampshire. Expansion of broadcast RF component technology.

2016
Company achieves ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D Certification.

2020
Microwave Techniques LLC reinstituted: merger between Mega Industries and Ferrite Microwave Technologies.

2021
Further expansion into building across the street at 29 Sanford Drive. Addition of manufacturing space and project capacity.

2021
Acquisition of Industrial Microwave Systems (IMS) of Garner, North Carolina. Addition of single mode industrial microwave heating technology for both solids and liquids.

2022
Microwave Techniques Systems Division finalizes its move into a new, larger manufacturing facility in Nashua, NH.

2023
Microwave Techniques acquires Valvo Bauelemente GmbH of Hamburg, Germany.
