UHV Accessories and Overview
Microwave Techniques produces an array of Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) compatible waveguide components. These are custom-tailored to provide high electrical performance in the UHV environment down to 1 x 10-12 Torr.
This means all of these UHV components are constructed utilizing vacuum rated materials. This includes materials such as: OFHC copper, non-magnetic stainless steel (304, 316L, and 316LN). Plus, some components utilize unique ceramics such as alumina, sapphire, and quartz. In our manufacturing process, we use advanced vacuum brazing techniques. In adddition, all UHV components are assembled and tested in our ISO Class 5 clean room facility.
Microwave Techniques can test and verify many vacuum properties such as vacuum He leak rates down to 5.0 x 10-9 Torr l/s, as well as internal outgassing levels to 1.0 x 10-12 Torr l/s cm2 to deliver ultra-high vacuum accessories and clean components, ready for easy integration into your systems. Additionally, we will perform bake out procedures and unique vacuum packaging protocols to ensure components are in a vacuum-ready state.
Microwave Techniques standard for ultra-high vacuum level testing is:
- 1.0 x 10-6 Torr l/s for larger aluminum (WR650) parts or anything with elastomer seals
- 1.0 x 10-9 Torr l/s for UHV (standard)
