The ‘WR’ is a shortened version of ‘Waveguide, Rectangular’ and the ‘975’ indicates the inner dimensions at the opening of the waveguide, in hundredths of an inch. So, a WR975 component is constructed of rectangular waveguide and has an inner dimension of 9.75 inches (247.65 mm).
